What is the main difference between FlexiProject and Kantata?

Which system is better for a project portfolio?

Is FlexiProject harder to learn than Kantata?

Does Kantata support task dependencies?
Yes. Kantata OX handles all four dependency types, FS, SS, FF and SF, with lag. It also marks the critical path. FlexiProject offers the same set on a Gantt chart tool and recalculates dependent dates as you move a task.
Does Kantata have project baselines?
Kantata saves project snapshots and marks one of them as the baseline. Its help centre states there is no functional difference between a snapshot and the baseline. In FlexiProject the baseline moves only after someone files a request and someone else approves it. The approved version is the reference point in time tracking software.
Can I import a schedule from Microsoft Project into Kantata?
No. Kantata imports tasks only as a template from a CSV file, up to 250 rows per file. FlexiProject reads .mpp files from Microsoft Project, and the project schedule software keeps the structure, dependencies and dates.
Does Kantata have a working days calendar?
Yes. Kantata has holiday calendars and custom workweeks assigned per user. FlexiProject works the same way, and individual time off shows up in resource management software.

Does Kantata have project budgets?

Kantata approves timesheets, expense reports and resource requests. Documents, plans and budgets have no approval path. Is Kantata available on-premises?
No. Kantata describes itself as a pure multi-tenant SaaS application. FlexiProject offers a server version with no functional limits, next to the cloud edition. The module set is identical in both, and you configure the system yourself.
Where does Kantata store data?
In AWS, with the primary data centre in the Oregon region and disaster recovery in Virginia. FlexiProject keeps data inside the European Economic Area, which matters for public bodies and regulated sectors. The same environment also carries operational task software.
Does Kantata publish a price list?
