Yes. You build a plan with phases, milestones and a critical path in the Gantt chart tool. You export the chart to PDF or PNG and share it with the board. In Basecamp the Lineup view only shows whole projects on a timeline, from the start date to the end date. In FlexiProject task icons also flag risks, budget and product status.

You link tasks with four dependency types, with lead or lag time. When you move one task, the dates of linked tasks change automatically, even across other projects in the same program. No. Basecamp has no budget module, so you calculate cost and margin for a client project outside the app. In FlexiProject you keep cost and revenue in one project budget. Alongside the plan and costs incurred, you see a forecast to completion, and you spread cash flow month by month. You link budget lines to tasks, so moving a task also moves the date of the related expense.

Yes. The risk register is a module of every project. A risk carries an owner, a position on a configurable matrix, a response plan and a link to the task it affects. An administrator sets risk categories, and you add typical risks to the project template. In Basecamp you can only record a risk as a plain task. You approve the baseline, the budget and the project charter in the approval workflow software. The path can carry several steps, including parallel ones, and you name a decision maker by project role. Every decision records its author, date and comment. Basecamp has no electronic approval path for documents or plans. The path in FlexiProject still works after a staffing change, because it does not depend on one named person.

Yes. In the project products software every product carries an owner, a due date and acceptance criteria. In Basecamp you can describe a product at most inside a task description, with no acceptance criteria and no named approver. You link a product to the tasks that deliver it, so you describe scope through results.

In the project reporting software you build reports without programming, including reports on budget, risks, products and plan changes. Basecamp’s reports are a fixed set of built-in views about tasks, deadlines and time. In FlexiProject you assemble dashboards from configurable widgets, and every department can hold its own set of reports. You export a report to Excel with filters kept.

Yes. A goal carries a baseline, a target and a current value. In the strategic project management platform, goals form a tree with subgoals, and you link projects to them with a level of influence. In Basecamp a goal is not an object, so the link between a project and the strategy stays in presentations. The board sees goals, KPIs and linked projects on one screen in FlexiProject.

Yes. You set the date of each review. Data from the schedule, the budget and the risk register flows into a report built on a company template. In Basecamp the team answers recurring questions in text, with no project data behind them. Past reviews and management decisions stay archived in the project review software.

You score ideas against your own criteria and weights, for example strategic fit, ROI and risk. You send a scoring survey to several reviewers and see their ratings side by side. Yes. You log hours against a task, including from the mobile app, and compare them with the estimate. You set logged time against the plan in the time tracking software for a person, a task and a project. Yes. You grant permissions separately for every project tab. A client can read the schedule and write in the project communication software, without seeing the budget or the risks. The FlexiProject interface runs in 28 languages, and every user picks their own. The Basecamp interface is available in English only. In the cloud version we store data in the European Economic Area, and companies with their own infrastructure can choose a server version.
