An approval path can have any number of stages and any number of decision makers per stage. You name a decision maker as a project role, so the path survives staff changes. Every decision keeps its author, date and comment.

A portfolio sums schedules, finances and milestone status across every project it holds. Risks from member projects collect in a single tab. One project can belong to several portfolios at once, without duplicating any data.

A program is a separate object with its own manager, shared schedule and success KPIs. Dependencies connect tasks from different projects, so one date change recalculates the rest. You compare the schedule before and after the change side by side.

You set the date and scope of a review, and the system asks each project manager for their part. Schedule, budget, risk and milestone data load into your own report template. Past reviews stay in the archive together with the decisions taken.

A change request names what moves and why. The current and proposed plan sit side by side on the Gantt chart, so the decision maker judges the scale before approving. Every approved version stays available for comparison. A year later you can still trace how the project drifted and who agreed to each step.
Each division keeps its own charters, templates and approval paths in its own work area. IC Project covers the operating side of a company. Projects, tasks, time, invoices, CRM and absences work in one system, and that breadth is its strength. FlexiProject organises work around the project lifecycle. A project starts from a scored idea and a charter, runs against an approved baseline and ends with a closure card. The whole set works as project management software for a project office. The choice follows scope. One system for company operations, or one system for an organisation reporting a portfolio to its board.
In IC Project the project portfolio is the project list, with a list view, a tile view, a Gantt view and filtering. That works while the count stays low. In FlexiProject the portfolio has its own budget with a reserve and an expected NPV. You can switch a project off in a simulation and read how the portfolio indicators move. An attractiveness matrix plots business benefit against complexity for every candidate. The portfolio layer belongs to strategic project management software.
IC Project is quick to pick up, and its vendor team configures the system for the client. FlexiProject covers more of the project lifecycle, so an administrator has more to set up. That structure does not reach every user. Contributors work in a task list, a Kanban board software and a Gantt chart. Charters, scoring and approval paths belong to the project office, not to the person closing a task.
It does. IC Project builds the Gantt chart from project stages and task boards. You add milestones and baselines and switch on the critical path. Deadlines move by dragging, and the chart exports to PDF and PNG. FlexiProject adds depth around the same view. Warning icons for risks, budget and products sit next to tasks, and daily availability of each person feeds the plan. The detail sits in the Gantt chart software.
IC Project links tasks with a finish-to-start dependency and a fixed gap between them. Move the predecessor and every successor moves with it, keeping the gap. Move a successor and the predecessors stay where they were. Start-to-start, finish-to-finish and start-to-finish links are not available. FlexiProject supports all four types with lead and lag times. The structure has no depth limit, so you nest phases and sub-phases as deep as the work requires. Every level stays on one project schedule.
A change request is a separate object, not an edit of the dates. It records the reason, the author and the decision, and it goes through the same path as a new project. Approved versions never overwrite each other, so a year later you can still compare version three with version seven. Approval paths also cover charters, budgets and documents. Each phase can close with a Go or No-Go decision. That history belongs to the project plan.
It does, and the module is strong. You plan estimated costs and revenues, compare them with actuals and convert logged hours into cost from hourly rates. Invoices are issued in the system and connect to KSeF. Planned lines and actual spend share one list, each marked with a status. There is no separate forecast to completion. FlexiProject keeps the budget plan apart from actuals and shows EAC and ETC next to them. The budget has versions, and each change passes an approval path. Every line carries accounting attributes such as cost centre, supplier and invoice. The scope sits in the project budget module.
It does. The register in IC Project holds probability, impact, area, owner, status and review dates. A risk can attach to a stage or to a specific task. FlexiProject adds the portfolio level and the reporting loop. Risks consolidate in a portfolio tab and load into the charter and the review report. Compare it with the risk register.
IC Project plans work as stages, task boards and tasks. Deliverables are not a separate dimension of the plan. FlexiProject keeps project products alongside the schedule. Each product has acceptance criteria, an owner and a deadline, plus a link to the tasks that deliver it. You can also record what stays out of scope and pass it to the sponsor for approval.
IC Project starts from a project or a template. There is no idea assessment and no scoring module. FlexiProject scores initiatives before they enter the portfolio. You define criteria and weights, send a scoring survey to several assessors and read the average, the median and the spread of answers. Different project types can use different models. It can. A goal carries a baseline value, a target and a current reading. The cascade runs from the organisation through a division down to a project and a task. Approval of a new project can require a link to a goal. The board reads goals, KPIs and related projects on one screen. IC Project has no goals module. Goals and KPIs belong to the strategy module.
A review is a recurring event with a deadline, not a report someone compiles on request. Project managers get a reminder and fill in only the part that is not already in the system. Different portfolios can run different review calendars, monthly for investments and quarterly for R&D. The board sees the same layout every time, so month-to-month comparison takes minutes. Ad hoc analysis runs through reports.
Start from the structure you already run. Import a schedule from Excel with column mapping, or from Microsoft Project, then save the result as a template. It does. Tasks import from Jira through JQL queries with owner mapping, so developers stay in their own tool while management reads the business view. IC Project connects calendars, drives, video meetings and Make, and it offers an open API, but no Jira connector. FlexiProject also integrates with Microsoft Teams, Outlook and Entra ID. Contextual help with short videos runs inside the application, next to the screen you are working on. People who only execute tasks work in views they already recognise. Project managers usually need one workshop on charters, budgets and change requests. Written material sits in the knowledge base.
It is. FlexiProject runs on your own servers with no feature restrictions. The cloud version keeps data in the European Economic Area. IC Project is cloud only, hosted in Poland and Germany. Its Gantt chart, risk register and workload module belong to the higher packages, and every package starts from five users. In FlexiProject, users who only execute their own tasks generate no cost. It does. Sign-in runs through Microsoft Entra ID, and users and the organisational structure synchronise from Entra ID or Active Directory. IC Project offers single sign-on through Google or Microsoft on its higher plans. Directory synchronisation is not part of its documented feature set. The full connector list sits under integrations.
The interface runs in 28 languages, and each user picks their own. A division or a company in another country gets its own work area with local project categories and roles. Shared documents hold the corporate standard. One project can stay visible in several areas at once. The setup rules sit under work areas.
