Project template
Project templates are a handy tool for handling similar projects. They offer a ready-to-use structure that saves you time, including project elements and processes.
These templates simplify planning and ensure uniformity across your projects, making information easy to understand and share. You can modify an existing template instead of starting from scratch, speeding up the project setup. Templates, built on best practices and past lessons, boost efficiency. They can also guide us to avoid common errors.
Moreover, templates aid in quality control. Monitoring and checking compliance is more straightforward if all projects follow set standards.
For more information, refer to Create a project from a template.
Create a project template
- From the menu bar, navigate to the Projects tab.
- Select the Templates tab.

Creating a Template from an Existing Project
You can create a new template based on the structure of an active or completed project. This allows you to standardize proven processes without configuring them from scratch.
To create a template from a project:
- Open the project you want to use as a source.
- Click the Gear icon (Settings) located next to the project name in the header.
- Select Clone from the dropdown menu.

- In the new window, enter the Name for the new project template.
- Select the Workspace. Just like creating a new template, you must specify where this template will reside.
- (Optional) Enter a Description.
- Click the Create button. The project template has been created successfully. It retains the data structure from the source project within the selected workspace.
Cloning a Project Template
If you want to create a variant of an existing standard, you can clone a template instead of building it from scratch.
To clone a template:
- Open the project template you want to duplicate.
- Click the Gear icon located next to the template name and select Clone.

- In the window that opens, enter a Name for the new project template.
- Select the Workspace. You must specify the target workspace where the new template will be saved.
- (Optional) Enter a Description.
- Click the Add button.
You have successfully created the project template. The data matches the original template, but is now saved as a new object in the selected workspace.
