Project charter templates
Project charter templates define the structure and layout of project charters in FlexiProject. They provide a standardized way to capture project details, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all projects. These templates allow you to specify which sections, fields, and components will be available in project charters. If project fields are configured in the system, they will appear in a dedicated Project Fields section, sorted alphabetically and displayed with appropriate icons.
Usage of Project Charter Templates in Projects
- When creating a project charter, users must select a template from the available options.
- Once a template is assigned to a project, the charter follows its predefined structure.
- Any project fields included in the template will be populated based on project data or user input.
Creating a Project Charter Template
- Open the PMO menu and select Project Charters.
- Click Add to create a new template.

- Enter a name for the template and click Add.
- The template editor will open. Use the component bar on the right-hand side to design the template.
- Drag and drop elements into the template layout, such as:
- Standard sections like Project Information, Budget, and Schedule
- Custom fields from the Project Fields section
- Additional components such as text blocks, images, or tables
The changes in layout will be autosaved.

Using the project charter template wizard
Editing Layout
- Open the PMO menu and go to Project Charters.
- Click the name of the template to open it.
- Adjust the layout or add and remove fields using the component bar.
Changing Name
- Open the PMO menu and go to Project charters.
- Click the name of the template to open it.
- Click the gear icon next to the template name to rename it
- Click Save to apply changes.
Cloning Charter Template
- Open the PMO menu and go to Project Charters.
- Find the template you want to copy and open it.
- Click the gear icon next to its name and select Clone.
- Enter a new name for the duplicate template and click Save. The new template will be created with all the sections and components from the original.
Deleting a Project Charter Template
- Open the PMO menu and go to Project Charters.
- Find the template you want to delete.
- Click the gear icon next to its name and select Delete.
- Confirm the deletion. The template will no longer be available for new project charters, but any charters already created in project from this template will remain.
