Project health
Project health is a manually set assessment of the project state, for example Good, Average or Bad, with a colour, a comment and a change history. The application does not calculate it from other project data. An administrator creates the values to choose from in System settings, and the health of a given project is set with the heart icon in the project header.
Project health is visible in the project header, on the project overview, in portfolios, reviews, on the project charter, in reports and in graphical summaries. It is not shown on the main project list.
Project health values
Health values are defined in System settings, on the Project health tab. This is an organisation-wide setting shared by all workspaces and requires administrator permissions. A new organisation has three values: Good, Average and Bad.
- Click Add. The Add project health window opens.
- Enter the Name and choose the Color. Both fields are required, and the colour is picked at random by default.
- Save. The new value appears on the list.

- Editing – click a value to open the Edit project health window, where you change the name and colour.
- Order – drag values on the list to set the order. The order affects sorting by health in reports and tables.
- Deleting – the Delete project health window. A value can be deleted only when the dictionary has at least three values, because two must always remain.
Note: after a value is deleted, all projects that had it are left without health. A change of a value’s name or colour is recorded in the health history of the projects that have it.
Project health in a project
The heart icon in the project header, next to the name, opens the Project health window with the current health and its history. The icon is visible on every project tab for users who have access to the project.
- Click the heart icon. The Project health window opens.

- Click the field Add new project health (when no health has been set yet) or Update project health.
- Choose a health value from the list. The option Set empty project health for the project removes the health from the project.
- Optionally, write a comment Describe project health. The editor lets you format the text and add an image.
- Click the save button. The health appears in the project header immediately and the entry goes to the History section.
Users with permission to change project settings set the health. Other users see the current health and the history. When the history is empty, the window shows the message No project health history. A project with no health shows the label No project health.
The history contains entries with the health, the author and the comment, as well as information about changes to the dictionary in system settings, for example a renamed value.
Where else project health is visible:
- on the project overview, in the health widget (read-only),
- in a portfolio, in the health column (read-only, see Project portfolios),
- in reviews, in the project table (see Reviews),
- on the project charter, as a template field (see Project charter),
- in the strategy filter (see Strategy),
- in reports as a column, a filter and graphical summary widgets (see Reports).
