User groups

Creating groups and assigning users to them simplifies the management of their privileges. Users can be assigned to multiple groups simultaneously. A user belonging to a group receives the permissions specified for that group unless their permissions or those from another group are higher.

Create a users group

  1. Expand the Administration group in the main menu, and then go to the Groups module.
    The Groups module will open.
  2. Click the Add button.
    The Add Group window will open.
  3. In the Name field, enter the name of the group.
  4. Select the type of the new group from the list in the Type field.
  5. Optional: Click the Description field and enter a description of the group.
  6. Select the users you want to assign to the group from the list.
  7. Click the Save button.
    The new group will be added and displayed in the list on the Groups tab. The Permissions tab in the new group will open.

Add users to a group

  1. Expand the Administration group in the main menu, then go to the Groups module.
  2. Open an existing group by clicking on its name or creating a new one.

  3. Once inside the group, go to the view Users.
  4. Click the Add button. The Add Users window will open.
  5. Select the users you want to assign to the group from the list in the Users field.
  6. Click the Save button.
    You have now added the selected users to the group. You will see their names in the list on the Users tab within the group.

Manage group permissions

  1. Expand the Administration group in the main menu, and then go to the Groups module.
    The Groups module will open.
  2. Open an existing group by clicking on its name or creating a new one. The tab by default will open on Permissions view.

  3. Click each field in turn, and select the permission level to set the permissions of group members for the respective program modules.
  4. Click the Save button.
    You will save the permissions. The system will assign the specified permissions for that group to the current users, unless they have higher permissions individually or from another group.
