Custom task attributes
FlexiProject lets you make custom fields for scheduling. These fields can add extra details to your schedule items. You can create fields for numbers, drop-down lists, dates, and text.
Create a new task attribute
Creating custom schedule column
- Expand the Administration group in the main menu and go to the System Settings module.
- Then, go to the Project Attributes tab.
- Locate and click the “New column” button. The Add column window will open.

- Enter the field name.
- (Optional) Mark column as a Mandatory if needed.
- Choose the field type: If it’s a ”Dropdown List,” fill in the options. If it’s a ”Number,” set the decimal places.
- Click ”Save”.
The new schedule column will show up in all project schedule settings. If the field is a “Mandatory field,” it is visible on the schedules of all projects created in the program.

Include custom column on the schedule
- Go to the project and, go to the project schedule tab
- Click Settings.
- Look for the column you want to include in your schedule and select it.
You can’t change state of Mandatory columns. Selected columns will appear on the project schedule.

- Go to the project schedule tab and find your task.
- In the selected task line, click the custom schedule column filed and enter or select a value.
- Click outside the field or press ‘Enter’ to save the value.

- Go to the project schedule tab and select your task.
- Open the task panel by clicking its name.
- Enter or select a value in the custom schedule field in the task panel.
- Click outside or press ‘Enter’ to save.
Schedule fields in reports
- Go to the ‘Reports’ tab.
- Create a new report or open an existing report from the ‘Tasks’ or ‘Milestones’ category by clicking on its name.

- Open the ‘Column Settings’ window by clicking the ‘Columns’ button.
- Click the ‘Add column’ option and select the project field you want to use.
- Turn off column visibility by clicking the ‘x’ that appears when you hover over a column row.
- Click ‘Save’. The report results will display the columns selected in the ‘Column Settings’ window.

Schedule fields on gantt chart
If the “Drop-down” schedule column type is enabled in the project. You can color the Gantt schedule chart using the colors assigned to the drop-down list options.
- Go to the ‘Schedule’ tab and click the ‘Chart’ button on the schedule timeline.
- You’ll find ‘Color’ among the options with an associated dropdown list. The Gantt chart colors itself by the ‘Progress’ property by default. Other options are dropdown list-type schedule column enabled on the project.
- Select the property you want to use for coloring the Gantt chart from the ‘Color’ option list.
- The selected dropdown list options will now determine the coloring of the Gantt chart.
