2025.06
We are pleased to present the latest version of the FlexiProject application! In this release, we’ve introduced several long-awaited features and improvements designed to make project work even more efficient. Highlights include project programs, enhanced notifications about changes to your tasks, the ability to perform mass actions in the schedule, and the option to assign owners to summary tasks. Below is a detailed list of the changes introduced in this latest release 👇
Project programs
We’ve introduced the concept of project programs, allowing for the presentation of a consolidated schedule of multiple projects. Creating project programs will be available to users with administrator rights to the “Projects” tab. A key feature is the ability to manage dependencies between projects within a program and to recalculate relationships between tasks from different projects in the same program.

Owners of summary tasks
Starting from this release, it’s now possible to assign owners to summary tasks within the schedule. Summary task owners automatically gain access and editing rights to all sub-tasks. We’ve also enhanced the task panel — users can now view all sub-tasks and add new ones directly from it. A special icon will indicate the number of sub-tasks associated with each summary task.
Along with owner assignments, we’ve added the ability to define effort estimates for summary tasks, enabling more effective high-level resource planning. Summary tasks are now also visible in other parts of the system, including the “Tasks” tab, task reports, user dashboards, and the “Resources” section.

Mass actions on schedule tasks
You can now perform mass operations on tasks in the schedule. Users can select multiple tasks (including filtered selections) and apply batch edits. This feature enables the simultaneous update of task owner, dates (start, end, and duration), and other schedule fields. A mass delete option is also available. All operations are logged in the schedule history.

Customizable allocation and resource load calculation
We’ve introduced the ability to configure how effort and resource loads are calculated. System administrators can now define which project stages should be considered when calculating resource loads — these settings are available in the system configuration.

Changes are visible in the resource allocation views, which now include new grouping options: “Load” and “Excluded Load”. The new logic is also reflected in tooltips on the Gantt chart and task details.

Additionally, the Gantt chart now uses yellow highlighting to indicate situations where — although a resource appears underloaded — the total allocation exceeds availability when accounting for excluded projects.

Notifications about your tasks
Previously, to receive notifications about changes made by other users to your tasks, you had to add those tasks to your watchlist manually. Now, notifications will be sent by default for all tasks where the user is the owner. These include updates such as progress, dates, ownership, comments, and attachments. Multiple changes made in a short time period will be grouped into a single notification.

Risks tab in project portfolios
We’ve added a new “Risks” tab to the project portfolio view, providing a consolidated overview of all risks identified in projects within a given portfolio. Users can customize the view by selecting columns, applying filters (e.g., by status, owner, category, probability, impact), and sorting the data.

Column configuration in project risks tab
Users can now manage which columns are visible in the “Risks” tab at the project level and set their display order.

Effort and work time in reports
Previously, effort and work time data were only available in task-level reports. Now, project-level reports include total project effort and the cumulative number of hours logged by all users during the project.

Sum row in reports
A sum row is now automatically generated in reports beneath columns containing numeric data (e.g., budget values, work hours, effort, numeric attributes of projects and tasks). This row is hidden if no numeric data is present in the report.

Adding projects to programs, portfolios, and reviews
We’ve unified the interface for adding projects to portfolios, reviews, and programs. Additionally, it’s now possible to filter projects by project fields in the selection window.

Archived project cards and reviews
We’ve resolved the issue of unreadable text in read-only project cards and reviews, ensuring full readability of all information.

Project portfolio view settings
View settings for portfolio tabs (selected columns, order, width, applied filters in Projects, Schedule, Budget, Risks, and Simulation tabs) are now saved per portfolio, rather than per user.
Improved color picker module
We’ve enhanced the built-in color picker by adding support for copying and pasting HEX values. The new version also displays a palette of 12 default system colors and the 6 most recently used colors, allowing for quicker access to frequently used shades.
