Application appearance update

The main focus of this release was on rewriting the front-end of the application, adapting it to Vue3 technology. This move not only increases the application’s performance and responsiveness but also brings changes to its appearance. The new user interface is more modern and intuitive, leading to a better user experience with FlexiProject.

Dark mode

Along with the updated appearance of the application, we have added the long-awaited dark mode. Users who prefer to work in a less bright environment can now switch to dark mode, reducing eye strain. Dark mode can be set in the user profile.

Relocation of settings

To streamline navigation within the application, settings for:

  • Projects,
  • Project portfolios,
  • Project templates,
  • Scoring templates,

have been moved to the gear icon located next to the name of each element. Previously, such placement of settings was only available in review templates and project card templates. From this location, users can easily change the name, description, or delete the selected element.

Project roles and permissions

With the reorganization of settings, project roles and user project permissions have also been moved to the section accessible via the gear icon. Previously, these options were separate, but now they are located in a single panel. This allows users to immediately see the permissions assigned to a user when adding them to a project role, greatly improving team and permission management.

Opening tabs in a new browser tab

The addition of the ability to open tabs in new browser tab was in response to frequent user requests. Now, the new version of FlexiProject allows users to open any tab in a new browser window, significantly improving work and navigation between different system parts. We hope this will contribute to a more convenient and efficient work experience with FlexiProject.

Risk scale editing

Previously, the system offered a fixed 5-level scale for risk probability and impact. In the latest version of the application, we have introduced the ability to define your own scale. The application administrator can now set a scale ranging from 2 to 10 levels in the system settings under the Risks tab. If a value is removed, the user must specify the value to which the assigned risks should be migrated. Changing the scale automatically modifies the risk matrix in the project.

Color-coding projects in portfolios

In project portfolios, under the schedule tab, the Gantt chart now includes the option to color-code project bars according to various criteria. Previously, the bars were defaulted to blue, reflecting progress. Now, users can choose which attributes, such as progress, project phases, project status, or other project fields (single-choice lists), they want to use for color-coding the chart. This change enables more intuitive and clear monitoring of project progress, taking into account specific attributes.

Exporting resource hours to Excel

In the Resources tab within each project, we have added a new option to export allocated hours to users on a given project to Excel. Previously, export was only possible in PDF and PNG formats. The new functionality includes a zoomed-in view on the screen (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly), allowing for better analysis of work effort at different stages of the project.

Exporting work time to Excel

Similarly to the Resources section, we have introduced an option to export data to Excel in the Work Time tab. Previously, export was only available in PDF and PNG formats. The export includes a zoomed-in view on the screen. This new functionality allows for an accurate list of individuals and hours worked on a given project in Excel format, which is invaluable for creating reports and analyzing work time.
