System settings

Custom columns can be added to the system from the system settings page. Here, users will see all the fields already added, along with information about whether they are mandatory for projects and the type of field. The list can be filtered by name and type. To add a new field, simply click the “Add Field” button. After clicking, a window will appear where the parameters for the new element need to be defined.

The user will need to provide the field’s name and specify whether the field will be mandatory. Mandatory fields will be displayed in the schedules of all projects. In the next steps, users will define the type of data the field values will accept. The available options are:

  • Date
  • Text
  • Number: Users can also define the precision for decimal places.
  • Dropdown List: Users will need to define the values available for the field and assign colors to those values. Colors can be changed by clicking directly on the color. The elements will be displayed in the field on the schedule according to the order defined here. To change the order, simply grab the element on the left side of the color and drag it to the desired position. Options can be deleted using the red “X” at the end.

Project settings

In the “Settings” tab within a project, users can define which fields from the system settings will be used in their project. Mandatory fields will always be displayed and cannot be disabled from the project settings level.

Schedule

Fields added in the project settings will be displayed in the details of tasks and milestones. From this level, users can define the values of the fields for the corresponding schedule elements.

On the schedule list, there will also be an option to display the field values. To make the values visible, simply enable them using the “Columns” button.

Gantt chart coloring

For schedule fields that are dropdown lists with predefined colors, there will also be an option to color the Gantt chart. By default, Gantt charts are colored blue based on progress, but through settings, users can enable coloring based on one of the dropdown lists added to the project.
