New schedule and Gantt chart view

The new project schedule is now presented in two views: a list (default tab) and a timeline (Gantt chart). This change enhances clarity by separating information previously contained in the table and allows the Gantt chart to occupy a larger portion of the screen, improving usability and speeding up schedule performance.

Another significant change in the schedule is the removal of phases, which have been replaced by summary tasks. These were previously similar in functionality to phases and will simplify work and make it easier to create schedules for smaller projects.

We have also introduced a greater number of functionalities that can now be executed directly from the main schedule view without needing to open the details of individual elements. These include marking tasks as completed, renaming, changing progress, or deleting tasks.

Columns with linked elements (budget, risks, deliverables) have been enhanced to display the number and status of items, making it easier to track progress on linked elements.

New task and milestone window

With the change in the schedule view, we have also redesigned how task details are displayed. In the latest version, all information related to schedule elements is shown on the right side of the screen.

Additionally, in the new detail window, all changes to tasks and milestones are automatically saved upon exiting a field, eliminating the need for a “Save” button.

One-click task and milestone status updates

With new task statuses, it’s now easier to determine whether a task is completed or not. You can update the status with a single click, both from the task details window and directly from the list or Gantt chart—something that wasn’t previously possible.

Multiple owners assigned to schedule elements

The latest FlexiProject release allows assigning multiple owners to tasks and milestones. Each assigned owner will receive a notification email, and the task will appear on their dashboard.

Adding relations directly from the Gantt chart

Previously, creating relationships was only possible within the details window of schedule elements. With the current release, users can now establish relationships on the schedule by dragging relationship dots directly on the Gantt chart.

Fixed relations on the project schedule

You can now define critical paths on the timeline. This option can be toggled on and off via the “Settings” button.

Critical path

The timeline now allows you to highlight the critical path. You can enable or disable this feature under the “Settings” button.

Schedule export

The new release introduces the ability to export schedules. The list view can be exported to Excel, while the timeline with the Gantt chart can be exported in .pdf or .png formats.

Project templates

With all the changes to the schedule, we’ve made analogous updates to project templates to ensure consistency across the entire FlexiProject system.
