KROSNO has been synonymous with the highest quality since 1923. The company is one of the largest manufacturers of consumer glass in Poland, and a valued supplier in more than 60 global markets. Almost 100 years of history of excellent craftsmanship, famous for its attention to every detail, has made KROSNO an icon of Polish glass today. Krosno Glass is created by masters in their craft: glass artists, designers, grinders and decorators. Products are made at the Krosno Glass plant in southeastern Poland. The plant is equipped with efficient production lines for forming glass using mechanical methods. The company’s pride is its impressive smelting furnaces, along with infrastructure designed to melt and form the most beautiful models of hand-formed glass by artist-smelters.
Such a dynamic development of the Krosno Glass is possible, among other things, through the implementation of an increasing number of strategic and operational projects. In order to ensure the high efficiency of the implemented projects, in 2021 the company decided to create the Office of Projects and Strategy Implementation. Immediately after the establishment of this organizational unit, a decision was made to implement a dedicated project management system.
The goal was to find a system that would provide both the tools to manage individual projects as well as provide reliable and timely reporting of the company’s project situation to management. A critical condition was also that the system – despite its expected complexity – should be very intuitive and easy to implement widely in the organization. With these criteria in mind, after verifying the available solutions, the choice fell on the FlexiProject system. In parallel with the selection of the system, Krosno Glass decided to use a consulting firm to create its own project management standards. This approach of parallel implementation of the system and creation of internal standards worked well in practice and proved to be a hit.
Currently, Krosno Glass is increasingly using further functionalities of the system and practically all projects of strategic, market and operational nature are already implemented in the system. FlexiProject has ensured that the company has moved away from scattered tools and now has all information about ongoing projects in one place-it is consistent and easily accessible. The Office of Projects and Strategy Implementation can work effectively with project managers and provide management with reliable information as a basis for decision-making.
It is also worth mentioning the development plans of the Office of Projects and Strategy Implementation itself. The roadmap developed with an external consultant for achieving successive degrees of project maturity of the organization and the Office itself is being systematically implemented. The Office is managing and collaborating on an increasing number of projects, and in the near future the number of these projects will steadily increase.
After a year of using the FlexiProject system, the organization sees its advantages in terms of high intuitiveness and configurability. Krosno Glass is gradually launching further functionalities of the system and using them to raise the effectiveness of the wide-ranging project management area to the next level. The above factors have largely contributed to the comprehensive adoption of the system throughout the Krosno Glass organization.
