27th IPMA Poland Conference with FlexiProject participation

On November 14–15, 2024, we had the pleasure of attending the 27th IPMA Poland Conference—one of the most significant events dedicated to project management professionals. As FlexiProject, we were the Platinum Sponsor of this prestigious event. It was a great honor for us to help create a platform for sharing knowledge, experiences, and inspiration within Poland’s project management community.

Knowledge exchange and inspiration

The conference was inaugurated by Tomasz Leśniowski, President of IPMA Poland, and Włodzimierz Makowski, Member of the Board of FlexiProject. They emphasized the importance of this year’s theme, “CHALLENGES”, which enabled participants to focus on overcoming the obstacles in project management and exploring effective strategies to address them.

The first day was packed with presentations by experts from various industries, offering attendees valuable insights and practical tips. The second day began with a keynote by Wojciech Chmaj from the NEUCA Group. Insights were also shared by Marta Smorczewska from Chopin Airport and Henryk Wolff from PORR. These inspiring talks highlighted the diversity and scale of challenges faced by project leaders in Poland.

Joint presentation by FlexiProject and Mabion

A unique highlight of the conference was the joint presentation by Włodzimierz Makowski from FlexiProject and Anna Czubatka-Bieńkowska, PhD, from Mabion—one of Poland’s leading biotechnology firms. The presentation explored the specifics of biotech projects at Mabion and the role of PMO in supporting them. A key focus was implementing the FlexiProject program, which significantly enhanced the efficiency of project and portfolio management within the company. Future challenges that Mabion must consider in its strategic execution were also analyzed.

PPEA and Polish PMO Award Competitions

The conference featured a gala ceremony announcing the winners of the Polish Project Excellence Award (PPEA) and Polish PMO Award.

In the OPEN category of PPEA, Totalizator Sportowy won for implementing the Salesforce CRM platform and the WinTo! loyalty program. Honorable mentions went to Fundacja Iskierka, ING Bank Śląski, and Żilinskis Sp. z o.o.
ING Bank Śląski received the Polish PMO Award for its portfolio transformation using a hybrid management model. The second place went to VeloBank S.A. and Żabka Polska Sp. z o.o., with Śrubena Unia Sp. z o.o. taking third. This prestigious recognition highlights the growth of world-class PMOs in Poland.

Networking and workshops

The conference provided excellent opportunities for networking and exchanging experiences with industry experts. Participants visited the stands of competition finalists, including the FlexiProject booth, which became a hub for discussions about challenges and needs in project management. The day concluded with practical workshops, enabling participants to develop new skills.
